Japanese Socienty of Veterinary Pathology (JSVP) is a specialized association belonging to the Japanse Society of Veterinary Science. Japanese College of Veterinary Pathologists (JCVP) is an organization board-certified pathologists that has been setting the standard for veterinary pathology since 1991. The purpose of JSVP/JCVP activities is to dedicate the advanvement and sharing of the knowledge concering every veterinary pathology feild and furthering technical skill of diagnostic pathology based on updated better scientific information by promoting annual meeting including several educational programs and publishing quarterly newsletters. The ultimate aim of JSVP/JCVP is to develop and protect animal and human welfare for the betterment of society.

The Membership

The JSVP consists of about 690 members including students in Veterinary School. The members of JCVP, about 370 diplomates, have all passed the certifying annual examination in general pathology and special veterinary pathology categorized into Companion, Food-producing, or Experimental animals. All JCVP diplomates must be the JSVP member and have completed at least 5 years of post-veterinary pathology training. JCVP diplomates should renew their membership every 5 year with strict review. Many of them specialize further with doctorates in toxicology, molecular biology or other scientific fields. JCVP's menbers work in universities, private diagnostic laboratories, governmental agencies diagnosing diseases of companion, food-producing, and zoo animals, and veterinarians ensuring safety in food, pharmaceuticals and biological products, conserving wildlife, and conducting research on the pathogenesis of animal and human diseases.
